Lovely reader review!

I love hearing from readers, and yesterday I received the most wonderful note from a reader.

Helen wrote:

I am reading and loving The Curse of the Gypsy.  I am torn between needing to know how it will end with Tony and Anne, and not wanting it to end because I am enjoying it so very much.  Hope to see some Lady Anne books in the future.  Your characters are so engaging and your language is so very elegant.  It is a real pleasure to read your books.  Many thanks.  Helen
PS  I have been hitting the dictionary and my wordpower increases by the day.
She makes me chuckle… she previously wrote to me that while reading my Lady Anne books she was getting to use the Dictionary function on her Kindle, as she often did when reading Anne Perry novels… and I told her how humbled I was to be mentioned in the same sentence with Anne Perry, who writes the wonderful Charlotte and Thomas Pitt novels.
Thanks, Helen, for making my day!

Spring and blogging

I’m so excited… spring is most definitely here (tulips and daffodils and all) and a robin is nesting above my front porch light. But my writing is so much fun right now, too.

I’ve finished Book Three of the Lady Anne books and it’s been approved. I’ve got another three book Regency romance proposal at my editor’s, and I’m working on my own secret pet project. And I need to finish Awaiting the Magic for all those patient readers who are still, a year and a half later, asking about book four of the Awaiting Series.

So much lovely work, so little time, and all when the sunshine is beckoning and the cats want to go outside!

Is anyone else having trouble concentrating on work when white puffy clouds drift across the blue sky outside the office window, and robins sing songs about the joy of life?

On the work side, join me tomorrow at the Casablanca blog for my post on how I used Zodiac signs to create characters for Lady Anne and the Howl in the Dark.

Finding my Feet

It’s been a long month.  I had in quick succession, the release of Lady Anne and the Howl in the Dark, finishing touches on Lady Anne and the Gypsy Curse (Book Three) and copy edit corrections on Lady Anne and the Ghost’s Revenge (Book Two).

All. At. Once.

And at the same time 25 (twenty-five) blogs to contribute to.

Whew… so I’m just beginning to catch my breath.

I want to say to readers… I am planning some exciting giveaways in the next while, things available only to my newsletter subscribers, so to be included, go to my website – http://www.donnaleasimpson.com – and sign up for my newsletter.

The only constant in life is change.

Everything keeps on changing.

April 2010: This is my testament to the fact that change can be a good…. VERY good… thing.

I’ll have lots of news to offer soon – actually tomorrow, April 30th – but I have lots to report and lots of good stuff to look forward to!

December 23rd, 2009: And the winds of change keep on blowing. I shiver as I sit at my computer typing this, because I’m still not sure what the change is, or how it will ultimately affect me, but change blows on regardless, a wind that is rattling me to the core. My life, my career… it’s all changing. Good or bad? I guess we’ll see.

In 2010.

As I mentioned below, in another post, publication of books 2 and 3 of the Lady Anne series have been put off until next year. I’m disappointed but philosophical; s*%t happens.

Change…. even this last bit has changed. I have stuff to report about Lady Anne and publication, but I’m leaving it until 2010.

On a happier note, I’ve begun a new blog to follow my reading passion, cozy murder mysteries. Check it out: http://cozymurdermysteries.blogspot.com/

Stay tuned!!!!
